Synopsis
A distraught woman is working her way along the top ledge of a high-rise apartment building, seemingly about to jump... just as savvy old gambler Mickey arrives to collect the winnings that brash young Jack owes him from last night’s poker game. Rather than pay up, Jack proposes a new bet: will she or won’t she? Will the woman on the ledge jump or not? Double or nothing. Mickey takes the bet, with the caveat that both he and Jack will each call out to the woman -- one to try and make her come in safe, the other to try and convince her to jump. But, as it turns out in this game of cat and mouse, of lies upon lies, where life is defined more by money than breath, where hope and faith are checked at the front door and usually not reclaimed, nothing will prove to be as it seems, and good deeds will most definitely not go unpunished.
